4 Player Cut Throat Tournament Rules & Info - April 25, 2026
We still have some edits to do. However we believe that these will provide a picture of how we intend to do things. We will update before the Tournament.
Please note this tournament will not be a Knockout as previously mentioned. The rules will be updated shortly.
Registration and check-in at 3:45 p.m.
Registration fee $40 per player before April 18. ($50 after).
The First round will start at 4:00 p.m.
Random draw for prelim rounds. New opponents each round if possible.
Players will lose points if not seated on time.
Players who fail to sit within 15 minutes will lost that round (0-6)
If players are available to replace disqualified or no-show players, they will be used as a replacement. .
If there is no replacement - the organizers will make a decision about how the first round will be played. The goal is to have a number divisible by 4 for the tables to flow.
All rounds will have a time limit to be decided (25 to 40 mins).
The round will also end if any player wins 6 games.
The tournament bracket will be selected at random by an App/Website.

- Top 8 players will advance to the semi-final round.
- Players will be ranked by Sets won/lost,
- Then games won
- Then possible 1 game playoff sceanrios to break ties if feasible.
During Play
Double 6 pose to start the first game.
The winner will pose the remaining games in the set.
Each game is worth one point.
If the game ends in a block:
The player with the lowest count wins the game.
If there is a tie. Double 6 will pose the next game. The winner will get 2 points.
Maximum points per game is 2 (derby). If more games are needed to break the tie, the winner of the deciding game will get 2 points (maximum allowed).
Exposed dominoes - Referee will rule on the possible scenarios:
If the card can affect the outcome, the game may be restarted.
The card can remain exposed until playable. It must be played at the earliest possible chance
If it is ruled that a player intentionally exposes a card. That player will be reprimanded, ( DQ’ed or warned).
The player in the lead can show a winning hand to save time. However, the player must wait for everyone to concede before disturbing the game in progress. The referee should be called to resolve any dispute at the table during the game.
Pass Scenario:
Players should use the word “pass” if there is no playable domino in the hand.
Players should not expose any card before ensuring that there is a pass.
If a player is taking too long to play, we can impose a 15 second per play rule.
Switching seats - Each player will have one opportunity to initiate a switch. An App will be used to randomize the seats for each switch.
- At least one game must be played before any other switching can be accommodated in the round.
Penalties and warnings:
A player will lose points(-1) for the following infractions:
Late, time etc update later
Exposed card to be updated
Bad Pass
